This afternoon I had a little dose of being on the other side of the camera. A friend and fellow photographer, Jennifer Dery, was sweet enough to do my maternity pictures. I must say, she did an awesome job. She has a great eye and captures some interesting angles. I love her work, and I feel so lucky to have had pictures done by her!
I had so much fun in downtown Lansing with her. We cracked up most of the session, which was good as I was super nervous being in front of the camera rather than behind. I told her she had free reign to do whatever she wanted with me, and she did! One of the very first shots we did she wanted me to lay down on this bench at a bus stop (in downtown Lansing, mind you). Of course, I was up for it so I did as I was told. I sprawled out my fat 8 month pregnant body on this bench, yanked up my shirt to expose the belly and if the man and woman across the road gawking at me wasn't enough, the CTA bus coming by and making a stop as I was lying there in all my glory sure added to the fun! It was all I could to to cover my face, cracking up, and turn away from the bus. I'm sure everyone on the bus got a good laugh, or at least were a bit puzzled as to why a pregnant lady was laying on the bench at the bus stop!
Anyhow, I'll stop rambling now and send you over to Jen's blog to check out the pictures. She did an amazing job, and for ME to like pictures that have ME in them, that says a lot. Thank you, Jen!!
